Description: Melissa leaf essential oil comes from a sweet smelling, bushy herb that grows up to 90 cm high with serrated leaves and tiny white or pink flowers. The high price of Melissa essential oil is due to the fact that approximately 3 tonnes of plant material is required in order to produce approximately 500 ml / 16.66 fl. Oz of essential oil.
Colour: Clear with a slightly yellow tinge
Consistency: Thin
Note: Top to Middle
Strength of Aroma: Strong

History: Melissa comes from the Greek for ‘Honey Bee’. It was used to give comfort and drive away sadness. Current aromatherapists tend to make the same claim, though they caution that consumers must be careful to purchase authentic Melissa Leaf essential oil rather than ‘nature identical’ varieties sold at a fraction of the normal cost. This is high quality Melissa from India.

Botanical Name: Vanilla Planifolia Plant Part: Fruit, bean. Extraction Method: Enfleurage.
Origin: India
Description: Vanilla is a perennial herbaceous climbing vine that can grow up to 25 meters (82 feet) high and that is native to Central America and Mexico. In cultivation the deep trumpet-shaped flowers of the Vanilla must be hand-pollinated; while in Mexico the native humming bird does the work. The green capsules or fruit are picked, cured, and the immature Vanilla pod or bean is fermented and dried to turn it into a fragrant brown vanilla bean.
True Vanilla oil makes a very appealing product. Many get a feeling of comfort & relaxation in the Vanilla scent. It can also be used to keep anxieties and stress away. Vanilla is known as an Aphrodisiac and believed to arouse sexual desires.
History: After civil wars and reduced availability, the price of Vanilla essential oil has risen to the point of most absolutes. Nonetheless, the true oil is recognized as being well worth the price.

|
Botanical Name: Eucalyptus dives Schauer
Plant part : Leaves Extraction Method: Steam Distilled Origin: Australia
Peppermint Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Dives) comes from Australia and Brazil and is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves. This is the peppermint eucalyptus which has a menthol fragrance reminiscent of all things minty. This is a medium sized eucalyptus tree with a short trunk, spreading branches and a fibrous grey bark. The young leaves are blue and heart-shaped; the mature leaves are very aromatic, thick and tapering at both ends.
Traditionally the aborigines used the burning leaves in the form of fumigation for the relief of fever. In a light rain, the air is clear and breathable thanks to these wonderfully fragrant trees.
